EducationWhittier College - BA, Political Science, International Relations , University of Colorado Denver - MA, Master of Public Administration
ExperienceI attended Whittier College where I earned a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations, with a Spanish Art and Literature minor. After which, I attended the University of Colorado at Denver to earn a Master of Public Administration, with emphasis on Environmental Policy and Law. While in college, I worked as a teaching assistant and a peer mentor for three years. My work was in freshman writing seminars for History, Philosophy, and Politics. After grad school, I was employed for two years with the Colorado General Assembly as an Assistant Bill Drafter and a Legislative Editor. I also worked with a nonprofit that specialized in teaching elementary, middle, and high school students environmental stewardship and civic engagement through service learning. I believe it was through this work that I was able to discover my love of empowering youth to become active in their community and government. Currently, I tutor several subjects at both the high school level and the college level. Additionally, I work as a coach for the speech and debate team at a local high school. Outside of work, I enjoy singing, practicing the guitar, Krav Maya, yoga, hockey, reading, and the great outdoors of Colorado.
