Hola! I'm a native Spanish speaker with more than 10 years of tutoring and over 5 years of classroom teaching, including all levels of Spanish - beginning, intermediate, advanced, and AP level. My tutoring sessions incorporate individualized lessons and activities according to the goals of each student. I am able to help with Spanish vocabulary, grammar, conversation, culture, reading, listening, and even writing composition. I have traveled to different countries and am able to share with students how culture and language are closely related. I have also taken courses in linguistics and am constantly learning in order to better serve my students. I also have experience teaching and tutoring English literature, grammar, writing, reading, and vocabulary. My students have described me as enthusiastic and passionate about the subjects that I teach. I am constantly trying to use various learning methods. After getting to know a student and asking them various questions, I am able to assess their learning style and the best way to help them. In addition, I listen to the needs of each student and the goals they would like to accomplish. For example, if a student wants to prepare for a test or interview, my time spent with them will be focusing on helping them be successful in reaching their goal. One of the rewarding aspects of tutoring is when a student has an "Aha!" moment and can explain a new concept that they are now able to understand.
