Private tutor in Aurora, CO
University of Colorado- Boulder - B.A, Sociology, Geography , Denver Seminary - M.A, Justice and Mission
I tutor students in English, ESL/ELL, reading, writing, grammar, and speaking at the elementary and middle school level. My first experience with children was helping those with disabilities at a summer camp, where I served as Therapeutic Recreational Instructor, after earning my bachelor's degree in sociology and geography. Next, I taught conversational English in Seoul, South Korea, starting with kindergarten through elementary grades. Sometimes we worked with pre-school and middle school kids. I helped them with their writing, reading, speaking, grammar, listening, and vocabulary skills. Many of them were first learning English; some were at more advanced levels. No matter their level, I could push them to challenge themselves. At the Not for Sale conference, I became aware of human trafficking and then traveled to Cambodia, where I witnessed the effects of modern day slavery. Back in the U.S. shortly thereafter, I enrolled in Denver Seminary. While here, I worked as a tutor with AVID at Sky Vista Middle School. I was a private tutor as well. Also, I went to school full time and just recently go my Master of Arts in Justice and Mission. When I have free time, I like hiking, mountain biking, camping, and baking.
